    Helicopter Rescue Flight

    Post  VAL640 on March 12th 2010, 11:21 am

    Hey guys,

Will made the suggestion for our next flight night that we can do some kind of mission where we would fly up in the mountains of Alaska, and perform a rescue mission.

He suggested that we can have someone sitting in a spot while the rest of us find this person and bring them to safty.

What I can do is play the part of the dispatcher. I can create a little scenery addon that will add some static objects within close proximity and only I will know where they are. I can then guide the rescue pilots to where the distress beacon was located.

I think I have some rescue missions downloaded for FSX. I can refer to them for ideas if you like. Anyone has ideas, please feel free to add them here.

And if anyone doesn't have any helicopters installed or doesn't have any desire to fly a helicopter and still wish to participate. Maybe they can fly a plane to recon the area to spot the thing we are suppose to rescue. They can then circle until help arrives. And possibly even give ideas on a safe place to get to the rescue point. scratch

    Rescue Mission

    Post  VAL632 on March 12th 2010, 2:58 pm

Ok First I will start with a list of aircraft required and/or being used. This will be light so no biggie if you don't have much room.

    1. Baron58
    2. Piper Cub
    3. All Cessna's
    4. King Air 350 for Air Ambulance. Or the King Air 200, or again a PMDG 1900.
    5. FS2004/FSX HoverControl Bell 412PE
    6. MCDonnell Douglas MD500H "Little Bird".

The following Links are for the Freeware downloads of the aircraft that are addons.

    MD500H
    Hughes 500E (369E) aircraft ...

    Bell 412 FS9

I think FSX Acceleration has a MD500 included so here is an update file for the rescue livery.

Our flight will be on the border of BC/Alaska in the town of Terrace, BC. CYXT This will be our starting point.

A map of the Area is provided here:
    http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=CYXT&sll=53.592505,-119.926758&sspn=15.343014,45.834961&gl=ca&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Terrace,+British+Columbia&ll=54.619798,-129.14978&spn=1.946582,5.72937&t=h&z=8

The missing Aircraft was headed to Ketchitkan Intl Airport PAKT

The Aircraft lost signal somwhere near Observatory Inlet. Any pilot who has float plane experience and an available aircraft is considered a huge asset for this search.

Any and all survivors, and unfortunatly, non survivors will be transported to Ketchitkan to an awaiting Air Ambulance who will transport them back to Prince Rupert CYPR

Looks great. I'll try and spare some time this weekend to place some static objects around the area. And the night will be very short if we only have one rescue. We need a bunch to keep us occupied for a couple of hours. So I will add multiple objects to keep us busy.

    Suspect
