    Crazy texture glitches

    Post  VAL640 on April 13th 2010, 11:36 pm

    Hey guys,
Here are some pictures of tonight's flight. The first two are of the icing conditions I experienced when parked at Deer Lake Newfoundland. Obviously they were having some crappy weather. I love the icing effects with the PMDG JS4100. Then it is followed with the texture glitches I was getting until I modified my in-game display settings to fix the problem.

    Wing and Prop ice:

    Windshield ice:

And here are my texture glitches. You will noticed that I almost had to take off blind... Thank God for instruments... pale

Wow Crazy! Try making sure as little as possible is running in the BG when playing as well. Also I noticed that setting your PC for "Best Performance" in the main CP settings, helps as well. Shut down any A/V for the duration of flight aswell

Also I would lose Rex. I am using Flight 1 Extreme Enviro. X looks great does everything like REX without the weather Gen., I mean if all you want really is better visuals then try using an app. that does "just" that. The DF weather in FSX is fine. Helps keeps you on the same page as regards to weather patterns ( i noticed quite often when you guys were Rexing it up, your weather would be totally different, bringing you in on reverse runways to everyone else ). F1 EEX is good no FPS hits, and together with ORBX mmm,mmm good.

Not too sure what caused the glitches. I did everything like I always do and even did a reboot before the flight. I've seen this happen before with other games with different hardware. But this is the first time I've seen this with any of the Flight Sim series.

At least adjusting my graphic settings (all I did was turn on a higher filtering and anti-alaising) it cleared the texture buffer. That seemed to have done the trick. At least it was ok after that. It was kind of tricky taking off without being able to see the runway... Tim had to keep telling me if I was still on track when taking off...lol

    affraid
