    Wilco - Airbus PIC Series - Volume 1

    Hi,
    This is a checklist that I complied using Wilco’s Flight Tutorial. It is to be used with their Airbus Volume #1 PIC series. As I fly more with the aircraft, I will make additions and revisions to this list.

    FLIGHT SETUP

    • Batteries (1 and 2): ON
    • Generators (1 and 2): ON
    • Fuel Pumps X6: ON (Fault)
    • Fuel Cross Feed: OFF (not lit)
    • Hydraulics: ON (Fault)
    • NAV Lights: ON
    • Radio Management Panels: ON
    • External Power (EXT PWR): ON (if available)
    • Passengers: BOARDING
    • ATC: CONTACTED
    • FMGC Initialization: PROGRAMMED (See at bottom of this page)

    ENGINE START

    • APU Master Switch: ON and click START (wait for power-up)
    • APU Bleed: ON
    • External Power (EXT PWR): OFF
    • Beacon Lights: ON
    • Strobes: ON or AUTO
    • Smoking and Seat Belt Signs: ON
    • Engine Startup Procedure:
      • ENG Mode switch: IGN/START
      • ENG 2 Master Switch: ON (Allow to stabilize)
      • ENG 1 Master Switch: ON (Allow to stabilize)
      • ENG Mode switch: NORM
    • APU Bleed: OFF
    • APU Master Switch: OFF

    • Takeoff Memo: GREEN (No Blue)
    • ATC Contacted: CLEARED FOR TAXI
    • Parking Brake: RELEASED
    • Start Pushback: SHIFT-P (by default)

    • Ground Spoilers: DISARMED
    • Landing Lights: OFF - RETRACTED
    • FL100: ACCELERATE to 300 KAIS
    • FL180 (Barometric Knob): PULL (STD)
    • Probe/Window Heat: ON
    • Engine Instruments: CHECK

    • Approach Speed: 180 KIAS
    • ILS Frequency: SET
    • ILS Mode: ON
    • Landing Lights: ON
    • Flaps: EXTEND 1 at 5000’

    ON FINAL

    • FL030-FL020:
      • EXTEND LANDING GEAR
      • EXTEND FULL FLAPS
      • AUTOBRAKES – LOW or MED (depending on runway length)
      • GROUND SPOILERS - ARMED
    • Landing Memo: GREEN

    TAXI TO RAMP

    • Landing Lights: OFF
    • Taxi Lights: ON
    • Flaps: RETRACTED
    • Spoilers: DISARMED
    • APU Master Switch: ON and click START
    • Probe/Window Heat: OFF

    SHUTDOWN

    • Parking Breaks: SET
    • ENG 1 Master Switch: OFF
    • ENG 2 Master Switch: OFF
    • Doors: OPEN
    • Passengers: EXIT AIRCRAFT
    • Taxi Lights: OFF
    • External Power (EXT PWR): ON (1 minute after engines shut down)
    • APU Master Switch: OFF
    • Batteries (1 and 2): OFF
    • Generators (1 and 2): OFF
    • Fuel Pumps: OFF
    • Hydraulics: OFF
    • Lights: ALL OFF
    • External Power (EXT PWR): OFF
    ===========================================

    Programming the FMGC

    Press the DATA button
    Press Import FS FPLN (R6) to load your current FS flight plan
    Press INSERT (6R) again to activate the flight plan

    Press the INIT key to display the INIT A page:
    • Align the IRS by pressing 3R
    • Enter the flight number in the scratchpad and press 3L
    • Enter the COST INDEX (30) in the scratchpad and press 5L
    • Enter the cruise altitude (ex: FL330) in the scratchpad and press 6L

    Press NEXT PAGE to jump to the INIT B page:
    • Press 1R with empty scratchpad, the 1R again to enter it in the FMGC.
    • When ZFW is entered, the Block line appears. Press 2R with empty scratchpad, the 2R again

    Press the F-PLAN key on the MCDU to display the F-PLN page:
    • Press 1L to display the Lateral Revision page for the Departure airport.
    • On the LAT REV page, press 1L to display the DEPARTURE page.
    • Select the Departure Runway and the SID (or NO SID).
    • Press INSERT (6R) to validate.
    • Press 6L to display the Lateral Revision page for the Arrival airport.
    • Press 1R to display the ARRIVAL page.
    • Select Arrival Runway and STAR (or NO STAR).
    • Scroll through the flight plan with the up/down arrows in the FMGC and look for Discontinuities. If you do have some (usually you will have two), here’s what you do to remove them.
      • Scroll to a discontinuity
      • Click the “CLR” button
      • Click the button to the left of the discontinuity
      • This should erase the discontinuity
    • Press INSERT (6R) to validate.

    Press the PERF key on the MCDU and the PERF TO appears to set the takeoff performance:
    • Enter the FLEX TEMP and press 4R. A value of 50° is an average value that should work fine.
    • Enter V1, VR and V2 in the 1L, 2L and 3L fields.
    • Enter the Thrust reduction altitude and Acceleration altitude:
      • Thrust reduction altitude: +1500ft above current airport altitude
      • Acceleration altitude: +1500ft above Thrust reduction altitude
      • Press 5L to enter it from the scratchpad

    Press NEXT PHASE to display the Climb (CLB) page:
    • Enter the climb airspeed (250) in the scratchpad and press 4L

    Press NEXT PHASE to display the Cruise (CRZ) page:
    • Enter the cruise airspeed (300) in the scratchpad and press 4L

    Press NEXT PHASE to display the Descent (DES) page:
    • Nothing to do here

    Press NEXT PHASE to display the Approach (APPR) page:
    • Enter the Vapp speed (140) in the scratchpad and press 4L
